Lower Water Temperatures and Salinity = Hungry Fish

A universal theme throughout all of my fishing forecasts is rain, and so far in 2012 it has been plentiful! This means lower water temperatures and salinity, and hungry fish.

While June through August are traditionally considered trout months, the rain has kept the reds and drum unusually active. Any time we see a wet summer, the fall fishing turns out to be exceptional as well. With that having been said, fall of 2012 is shaping up to be terrific.

The bait fish are plentiful, the back bays are loaded with shrimp, and the fish are cool and happy. And did I mention the rain? Book a late summer or fall trip to Redfish Lodge and see for yourself what the rain does for the fishing.
